Painting Portraits, Landscapes, Seascapes and Scenes

$200.00

Study with a seasoned professional to gain a command of painting techniques and principals, and apply them to the subject of your choice in a collegial atmosphere. Gain an understanding of the painters perspective, observing light/shadow, color, volume & shape, and learn to combine these aspects of imagery to conceive and develop an original work of art.

Critique and guidance will be offered for every level of accomplishment, with individual attention to each student. Whether seeking foundational skills or building on past studies, this class offers continued skills-building and strong direction to inspire and enhance a student’s art practice in a traditional studio setting.

Each session features a portrait model, but students may work on other subjects if desired.

Beginning students are encouraged to start with bringing a 12×18 Newsprint pad, some drawing charcoal (vine and compressed) and a charcoal eraser, to begin developing basic skills. Continuing students bring the tools and media of their choice, primarily oil or acrylic paints.
