Children’s Summer Enrichment Program

PROGRAM FOR 6 –9 Yr . Olds
Mornings  9:30 –12: 30

 Week 1. July 6 – 9 (Tue. – Fri)
DRAWING & PAINTING with Karen Elder
Inspiration is everywhere! Draw from observation and from imagination. We will do several fun projects in graphite pencil, , colored pencil, markers & pastels.

Week 2. July 12 – 16 (Mon. – Fri)
PAINT LIKE PICASSO with Karen Elder
Celebrate the work of some wonderful painters such as Van Gogh, Kandinsky and O’Keefe. Each day we’ll paint our own masterpieces based on the techniques of these influential artists.

Week 3. July 19 – 23 (Mon. – Fri)
AMAZING 3D ANIMALS with Karen Elder
This sculpture course focuses on animals – wild or domestic. From your favorite creatures using papier- mache, wire, clay, cloth and other materials.

Week 4. July 26 – 30 (Mon. – Fri)
CARTOONING with Tony Robinson
Create your own comic character. Take them on exciting adventures. Make a comic strip and much more.

Week 5. Aug. 2 – 6 (Mon. – Fri)
BOOKMAKING with Tony Robinson
Put your comics or drawings together to make a book. Be an author with your name on the cover.

Week 6. Aug 9 – 13 (Mon. – Fri)
DESIGN MATTERS with Karen Elder
Discover both old and new ways to design and create objects to use and items to wear. Explore the possibilities of hand-building with hardening clay. Choose your own projects such as Shrinky Dink jewelry, woven cell phone cases or American Charm Bags.
