FRIDAY MOVIE NIGHTS
ROTHKO’S ROOMS - a documentary *
FRIDAY: APR. 20, 7:30 – 9:30pm
Chronicling the life and incredible career of American artist Mark Rothko, this intimate portrait collects comments from family members, friends, artists, art historians, collectors and curators to provide insight into the man and his masterpieces. Through his giant abstract paintings, Rothko hoped to move viewers to feel something akin to religious awe and evoke emotional responses to such basic human experiences as tragedy and ecstasy.

BILL CUNNINGHAM NEW YORK – a documentary *
FRIDAY: MAY 18, 7:30 – 9:30pm
Living simply and using a bicycle to get around New York, 80-year-old photographer Bill Cunningham tirelessly records what people are wearing in the city — both out on the sidewalk and in the salons of the wealthy. The beloved New York Times style photographer is world famous for his weekly “On the Street” column.
