    Woodcut / Linocut

    For wood carving tool that is made from Sakura or Loew Cornell)
  • · Wood blocks:
    (2 pieces of 6” x 8” x 14” birch plywood from lumberyard or Home Depot, Students may purchase from the instructor).· Linoleum: 2 pieces 6” x 8” (or larger), mounted or unmounted – find at local art store or www.dickblick.com
  • · Printing papers:
    Newsprint pad (18” x 24”), light drawing papers, 10 sheets of sumie papers (11” x 9”), Japanese papers (students may purchase from the instructor) or Rives lightweight –found at local art stores or www.dickblick.com
  • Misc:
    · Wooden spoon, tracing paper, wax paper
    · .8×10 (or larger) plexi glass piece (glass piece is ok but plexi glass is preferable) or disposable palette. 1 or 2 tube(s) of speedball block printing ink: black + one extra color
    · Ruler
    · Latex gloves, apron
    · Black marker, black drawing ink, brushes
    · White conte or crayons, pencils, erasers
    · Sketchbook
    · Portfolio (larger than prints)
    · Chipboard
    . Shop rags (one pack from Home Depot) or 1 roll of paper towel
    · Masking tape
